MARBLE SOUL is a recording and performing duo based out of New York City. Guitarist and vocalist, Eric Neher and keyboardist, Mike Anzel first got together in 2024 and since have been readying a batch of songs for the recording studio and for their live set. MARBLE SOUL has a modern sound which brings together rock, pop and American roots music. Some of the artists they’ve drawn inspiration from lately have been The Black Keys, Dr. John, Link Wray and also Oasis. The sound of MARBLE SOUL falls firmly within the modern rock/alternative genres and is a mix of roots-tinged electric guitars, keyboards, electric bass and spiny rock rhythms.
Both Neher and Anzel are experienced musicians who have a good deal of performing and recording experience between them. Eric Neher has performed extensively in his native New York and on the East Coast of the US. He has also done a 9 state tour of the Southern States and has played internationally in Paris and Bordeaux. He has performed live on SIRIUS XM Radio and has also performed guitar with renowned No-Wave composer Glenn Branca. As a solo performer he has two full length albums to his credit. Tigris Euphrates, which was recorded by legendary producer Martin Bisi (Sonic Youth, Swans, Dresden Dolls) and Shame Train which was produced by Robert Kirk. Neher has been joined on his recordings by such notable musicians as Lorenza Ponce (Bon Jovi, Sheryl Crow Violinist), Lance Doss (John Cale Guitarist and Mandolinist), Don Yellech (Psychedelic Furs Drummer), Doug Petty (Rihanna, Tears for Fears, Roseanne Cash Keyboardist), Lyris Hung (Hung, Indigo Girls Violinist). Mike Anzel has had an illustrious career as a songwriter, recording engineer and producer. His song “Who’s Loving You” has been recorded by Anthony Hamilton and in the studio he has engineered sessions with such greats as Pharell, … … … …/ … and… In addition to his composition and engineer work, Anzel has produced a great album for the NY band, Mach 5.
